The Issue

Put Americans First demands an emergency session of congress for:

1. Tax relief in the form of adding an extra dependent on our taxes. Between Ukraine, Israel, inflation, oil and other rising costs. Offsetting these costs into the form of an extra dependent raises take-home pay for American workers or provides a larger tax refund for next year. This money will be used to buy groceries and prescriptions, and gasoline.

2. A Domestic Aid budget equal to the foreign aid budget. This money will go to charities, churches, school groups, and other organizations to handle local issues like homelessness, health, food accessibility, and more.

3. A passage of Rand Paul’s Association Health Plans Act that will enable people to purchase healthcare plans from charities, credit unions, churches and other entities. In addition to that plan, a provision allowing the importation of affordable prescriptions from other countries, and asking pharmaceutical providers to prioritize Americans for affordable prescriptions before offering affordable prescriptions abroad.

4. A trial ceasefire and plan to end to foreign entanglements, particularly with Iran. A push for discussions and parameters with all parties beginning on October 28th. A resolution to the war in Iran gives us the chance to end the war in Ukraine. If Iran agrees to a treaty with terms negotiated by the USA and Israel with Russia, then Ukraine can agree to a treaty with Russia that is co-negotiated with the USA. Ending both wars saves lives and billions of dollars for the American people. The trial ceasefire in both conflicts (beginning November 1st) will continue until a full negotiation is held on Christmas.

5. That we create a $10 Billion emergency fund in the case of a shutdown of our government to pay workers fully for all missed compensation. How it will work is the fund will provide no interest loans for employees, then when the government reopens, the loans are forgiven. The dozens of people who froze to death after dying in the DC plane crash do not find partisan politics funny. And their families are voters. Air travel needs full security and unpaid wages from workers in shutdown departments posed a threat to our national security.

6. Create a budget like we used to do so we don’t have to get to this point in the first place. The government is funded via continuing resolution until December, and some politicians are planning to use the American worker as a pawn, once again. This proposal declares that if a budget is not passed, the budget will carry over from whenever the last full budget was passed.

7. A $7,500 first-time homebuyer’s tax credit to help with home affordability. $15,000 for married couples. A full tax write off for all costs of homes built and sold for under $100,000. This will help builders afford to build affordable houses.

8. A refund of the tariff money the supreme court struck down to the American worker in the form of bonuses. The money is sent back to the collectors, and the collectors spend this money on worker bonuses, while writing the amount off on their taxes. A win-win for both the small businesses that had their margins thinned and the public, whose wallets suffered the same fate. This will get the public spending and paying down debt during the holiday season.

9. A voter security act for future elections that requires voter IDs nation wide and funds people’s access to them. Most Americans support voter ID laws and believe that expanding access to ID is important, so why don’t we agree to do both. Ensure election security with voter IDs while funding people’s access to them. No American should miss out on the right to vote due to a $20, $30, or $40 ID. Work with states and non profits to waive, subsidize or even lower these fees and expand ID to everyone. Since Congress likes acronyms so much, we can call it the VOTER act ( Voter Outreach To Enable Registration). This enables the compromise that the American public so deeply desires.

10. Term limits are needed for fresh faces in congress. And no, fresh faces do not include taxpayer-funded facelifts. Each member of congress should be allowed to serve no more than 25 years. Anyone who has served more is term limited and must vacate at the nearest election. Do you people seriously not want to retire because the rest of America wishes for that luxury, especially if it came with lifetime benefits as good as yours.

11. A cognitive and physical test done publicly for all federal politicians over 75.

12. A suspension of the gas tax for the rest of the year. This will bring gas prices down slightly, saving Americans hundreds over the course of the next few months, just in time for holiday travel and spending.

13. An enforcement of OUR borders, not Iran or Greenland’s. An expansion of border surveillance technology and officers focused on prevention of breaching of porous border openings.

14. A budget to provide all schools with security guards. Preferentially, the security hired will be able bodied, mentally screened veterans struggling with unemployment.

15. A 1 month student loan pause for those behind on payments. All borrowers will have the option to delay a payment for a month if in financial need.

Additional: Day After Dinner - A nationwide unity event for Americans of different political ideologies and political parties to eat together. More important than policy is that we come together as a nation before we tear each other apart. More on this later.
