I wanted to share an important update with everyone supporting this petition.

This morning, I spoke directly with the Mayor of Plant City regarding the proposed land rezoning. While the Mayor is not a decision-maker in this case—since the proposal involves unincorporated Hillsborough County (Plant City)—he was extremely helpful in explaining the process and directing us to the appropriate committees and officials we can contact to voice our concerns.

Even more encouraging, he informed me that as of right now, the committee members are planning to vote NO on this proposal.

This is a huge weight off our shoulders and a strong sign that our voices are being heard. That said, this is not the time to slow down. It is more important than ever that we continue to stand together and show that our community has no interest in this rezoning—not now and not in the future.

Let’s keep pushing forward, sharing this petition, and making it clear that we will stand firm to protect our land, our community, and our way of life.
