Stand up against AI now! 

The construcation of thsi data centre will pose threat to our water systems which have already been under strain for years. In the past 3 years in Calgary(my home town) there has been numrous water resistantion lasting weeks introducing an AI data centre will only exacerbate this issue. It will cause irreversible damage to our ecosystem. It will cause air, water, land, and noise polluation, severally affecting the town of Olds and it's residents, as well as damgaing the wetlands and the wildlife. 

Synapse Data Centre Inc is looking to build a 100 billon dollar AI data centre in a town of less than 10,000 people, as well as having nearly 40 projects lined up to be built all across alberta. This will affect nearly 5.1 million peoples lives directly and the entire world indirectly. AI adds to the water shortage across the gobal, eating up resorces, and taking achres of land. It will strain current populations and ruin chances for furture ones.

AI also damages our job market, machines replacing humans while being underquifiled and being filled with missinformation. Creavtives, artist, writers, actors, programmers, musicians and many other people have felt the impact of AI in their fields. AI endangers their livelihoods and creavtive expression, making people devaule it and disregaurd it. By facilitating more AI technology through this data centre, we risk fueling an epidemic that devalues human creativity and originality.

There needs to be more thoughtful and respesentive devoplment, taking long-term enviromental health, art, current populations, and future genertations into considerations. Instead of building more AI data centres, we should invest in sustainable technologies that benefit everyone without compromising our precious resources.

Make them halt construcation and put in protective policies taht will advocate for alternatives that honour and protect our natural resources and support the flourishing of human creativity.
