2Econd 2Ight 2Eer

I grew up with Just Dance (2009) for the Wii. I've had it for my whole conscious memory and playing it still helps me calm down (I AM THIS CLOSE TO A PERFECT SCORE ON EYE OF THE TIGER AAAA). As of recently I've been super into an artist known as Will Wood. Connecting to my Jewish roots with upbeat indie klezmer punk, his music also calms me down. So I got the genius idea: What if my calming mechanisms were fused and Will Wood was in Just Dance?

A few days ago I asked on Reddit's r/WillWood community which of his songs they'd like to see in a future game. And the response was practically unanimous. They wanted an upbeat, groovy song with a gradual opening that they could go insane to. They wanted a song like 2Econd 2Ight 2Eer (Well that was fun, goodbye!).

Recently receiving the second and third games as gifts after playing the first for thirteen years was...amazing, to say the least. In those three games I've played, there's so much variety. From the twerking nerd in Hey Ya, the full band and garage in I Was Made For Loving You, the squat dancing in Rasputin, changing rhythm of Jin Go Lo Ba, and my favorite, the psychedelic chemical warrior guy doing crazy movements to Hey Boy Hey Girl; there's something for everything. So a crazy song like 2Econd 2Ight 2Eer wouldn't really be out of place. In fact, it would fit in perfect.

MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING FOR THE SECOND VIDEO: It has lights flash the entire video. I'm not epileptic and even I find it hard to watch. I'm only linking it for those who feel comfortable with that sort of media.

The song has an easy-to-begin-with opening in a smooth vocal crescendo but quickly changes to upbeat disco-inspired punk. The lyrics are completely clean--unlike many of Wood's other songs--so it wouldn't require any audio editing. There're tons of unique choreography and background ideas that could come from the video (minus the flashing lights obviously. Something similar to Hey Girl Hey Boy's background would work well). Now that newer Just Dance titles have routines go beyond simply just a character in a location (eg. that one where the camera zooms out to show the dancers in jail, I think it's called Telephone?), it could even feature unique visuals like the file explorer scene in the video's beginning. The quick tempo and easy structure of the song could make for a lot of fun moves, and the song's lyrics are so bizarre that the possibilities that could come from them are endless. And imagine how cool it would be to have a coach with a third eye!

Now, this song was made back in 2020 and Will Wood isn't the world's most famous artist. But that didn't stop super old songs like Mash Potato Time and downright odd songs like Muggsy Bologna from getting their turn in the spotlight. Will Wood fans, from what I have seen, are dedicated to the man's music. Having a Will Wood song in Just Dance wouldn't just make them happier, it would make people who've never touched a Just Dance title crowd to buy them like moths around a streetlamp.

In conclusion, adding Will Wood's 2Econd 2Ight 2Eer (Well that was fun, goodbye!) as a routine in a future Just Dance title or DLC would be a smart choice on everyone's behalf. It's a fun song with unique sound that could have so many possibilities come out of it. It has a dedicated fanbase that not only loves the artist, but specifically came together to vote this song as his most Just Dance-worthy music. Just Dance is all about having fun and trying new things, and what would be better than adding a song like 2Econd 2Ight 2Eer?
