The Issue

Purpose in Prevention is a community-wide initiative that engages students from the elementary to collegiate level by fostering collective awareness and support. Through adaptable messaging tailored for youth, this initiative highlights key pillars of prevention, such as combatting peer pressure and fostering mental health. It encourages students to engage in open, healthy conversations with friends, family, and peers to build a more supportive and informed community.

Students have the power to create change, and it starts with using their V.O.I.C.E.—Vocalizing when help is needed, Offering support to friends and peers, Investing in recovery resources, Connecting with the community, and Educating friends and family. By embracing these principles, students can break the stigma surrounding addiction, promote awareness, and build a network of support that strengthens their schools and communities.

Today, I pledge to live drug-free and use my V.O.I.C.E. to create change. I commit to being a leader in prevention, standing against addiction, and making a lasting impact in my community.
