The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson  has announced that pubs, cinemas, hairdressers and hotels are able to open from 04 July. Unfortunately, gyms have not been listed in this phase of the UK’s plan to come out of lockdown. This decision by the government is very frustrating and does not make sense. The prioritisation and logic being used by the U.K. government is flawed. Why are pubs and restaurants being opened ahead of gyms?

COVID-19 is of significant concern, but it can be argued that the mental, physical and emotional well-being of all individuals is equally important. Gyms are a safe, controlled environment. Please sign this petition to put pressure on the U.K. government to review its decision and get people back in gyms for their physical and mental health. Gyms being opened for the health of the nation should be the priority!
