Reimburse Purdue students with Spring semester 2020 tuition

The Issue

With the recent COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, I feel it is only right that students be reimburse the money they have paid to rightfully receive education. Not only are students losing out on structured education and face-to-face support, but the costs of tuition as well. This concern includes rent or other finances paid for housing.

At this time, families and students may be out of work resulting in the loss of income which would normally be put toward tuition and housing costs. No matter when this panic and outbreak clears, students still have loans to be paid off, additional years of college to be paid for, and other school associated activities that they may be a part of.

It has been clearly voiced that all academics will be moved online and that students are encouraged to move out of their campus housing and go back to their permanent place of residence. The costs to attend and live near Purdue were or are still being paid for, and students are not nearly receiving the education or housing that fulfill these costs.

I am asking Purdue students or parents of students at Purdue who feel it is right for a reimbursement on some (the difference in cost of taking classes online versus on campus) or all of the spring semester to please sign this petition and pass it on to/share with others who would appreciate it as well.

Schooling is not cheap and we have paid for the face-to-face instruction as well as the electronics and labs in which we no longer have access to.
