Bottom Line - "The Music Stays the Same!"  

It was a privilege to represent the over 4,400 signers of the "Don't Let the Music Die in Downtown Punta Gorda!" Petition. We wanted Punta Gorda City Council to know that thousands of people enjoy the music, restaurants, bars and festivals - the way it is now! No strict ordinances, no limits on time. And we were correct, only ONE complainer was the reason for the "discussion item" on the Agenda. It was great to let City Council know that thousands thought differently. Great job!So in review, ALL of City Council members said that they were NOT for making any changes! Thank you, Petition Signers!!!

"Watching our community come together this morning reminded of several things.
Hurricance Charley and the way we united & worked together to help each other.
Music is essential to our down town business district.
And all the other reasons that I love our Punta Gorda community.���
Great job by all who signed the petition that Steve Lineberry put up for us. Over 4400 signatures in about 48 hrs. Great job to the hundreds who showed for the meeting. Many could not fit in the chambers and had to try to listen to the little speaker outside in the parking lot for over 2 hrs.
Thank you to all of the many, many people who spoke on behalf of residents and businesses.
And thank you to the ONE guy that caused this to happen, a real American NIMBY; you showed me that in general we have a wonderful, loving, supportive community, even if you, sir, are still in it."
