Hey Canada! Forget being overly polite; it's time for a carefully planned… Energy Conservation Initiative! This campaign is about uniting Canadians to do something so gloriously bold it’ll make Americans choke on their chicken wings: a "Super Bowl blackout"! Imagine the chaos!

The Super Bowl is HUGE in America. Millions tune in! We think a little Canadian… power play could make it even more memorable.

As a Canadian citizen, I have been personally affronted by the 25% trade tariffs that were imposed against my home country. It seemed unfair and unjust. Therefore, I am proposing a disruption that may strike home to many Americans: turning off the power switch to the United States during their big game.  Specifically, we demand that the Canadian federal and provincial governments temporarily suspend power exports to the United States for the duration of the Super Bowl.

Canada is a significant supplier of electricity to the United States.  We export a substantial amount of power daily, impacting millions of American homes and businesses.  This reliance gives us leverage.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest events in America. In fact, Nielsen Ratings reported that around 102 million viewers watched the Super Bowl in 2020. As such, we believe this act could pose a poignant reminder of the impact wrought by unfair trade restrictions.

However, we must remember the goal isn't to create lasting hardship for ordinary citizens. The aim is to voice our frustrations and encourage honest, balanced trade relationships. The World Trade Organization supports this sentiment, stating that tariffs harm consumers and create economic inefficiency.

This is a statement. A memorable moment that will have them talking for years. Let's show the world what #CanadaStrong really means—because sometimes you’ve got to pull the plug to make a point.
