With great respect and trust in you, I write this public petition. With the hope that you will support the endeavor to safeguard OSSUDU BIRD SANCTUARY.  The lake which extends to 800 hectares in which 390 hectares lies in Puducherry.

There is a plan by The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to lay a Regasified-Liquified Natural Gas (R-LNG) pipeline inside the eco-sensitive zone of Ossudu Bird Sanctuary, which is one of the important wetlands of Asia and as designated by International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).

IOCL's anchor customers namely M/s Mohan Breweries and M/s Hindusthan National Glass Ltd are located within this eco-sensitive zone of the Ossudu Bird Sanctuary, there by making this development worthy of your intervention. 

This development comes at a time when the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is also threatened by commercialization for which we have received 15,000+ nature lovers showing their support.

Humbly request you to stop this blatant power play by Corporates and wiping out the "left over" natural habitats of birds.
