Hello. My name is Curtis Trichel and I have been a proud Publix Supermarket Associate for almost 8 years. Since the company began in September 6, 1930, our dress code was with the current times when it came to professional appearances. However, we have seen many jobs begin to be more progressive with the appearance of their employees while Publix has remained the same and many new employees feel our self expression in the workplace being limited with these rules.

I personally know plenty of associates who feel more confident when they have the freedom to dye their hair and style it as they desire. We are all a part of diverse communities and want to help our customers in our most comfortable way possible. Those of us who work in fresh departments are required by health codes to wear hair nets, so we would never be in violation of contaminating food. The update of the dress code would also help allow stores to hire people who would originally be qualified for the job but may be looked over based off how they look.

If you are reading this petition and believe Publix Supermarkets should update their dress code to allow fad hair colors/styles for all associates, management, etc., please sign my petition and share it so that we can show Publix the positive impact they would on their community, customers, and associates.
