Publish the R3 Odia textbooks promptly
The Issue
Hello, I am Aafiya Shaikh, a 9th-grade student from Kataka, Odisha. I am writing to bring to your attention a significant concern affecting many students like me: the delay in the publication of the R3 Odia textbooks by NCERT.
Currently, we are provided only with the soft copies of these textbooks, and our schools have not yet received the basic resources, such as the printed Class 6 Odia books. Consequently, our teachers are compelled to teach from digital copies, which is not an ideal scenario for effective learning. This not only disrupts our learning process but also imposes additional challenges for students who may not have adequate access to digital devices or stable internet connections.
Printed textbooks are an essential teaching and learning tool that facilitates understanding and allows students to interact more effectively with the content. There is something inherently beneficial in the tactile experience of reading physical books, which aids in concentration and absorption of knowledge. Furthermore, having access to printed materials is a matter of equality, ensuring that every student, regardless of their socio-economic status or technological access, has the same opportunity to learn.
This issue is not isolated to a single classroom but is pervasive throughout the state. This means that a large number of students are behind in their lessons, and their academic progress is at risk because they don't have the necessary tools to succeed. Moreover, the teachers are finding it challenging to deliver lessons effectively without the printed materials at hand.
Thus, I urge NCERT and the authorities responsible for educational material distribution to prioritize the publication and distribution of the R3 Odia textbooks at the earliest possible opportunity. By doing so, you will be supporting thousands of students in Odisha to continue their education without unnecessary hindrances.
This matter requires immediate attention and intervention. The education and futures of countless students depend on it. Please consider the importance of timely textbook publication and join me in this cause to ensure that every student has access to proper educational resources promptly.
Sign this petition to support a timely and essential resource that every student deserves for a fair and equal education. Together, we can push for the changes needed to ensure we all have an equal opportunity to learn and grow."
