Dickson's city council voted to enter into a contract with the US Department of Agriculture to corral all the geese and ducks surrounding Luther Lake in the spring or early summer to have them euthanized. Many of the neighbors are complaining of the mess the birds are leaving. The argument could be made that lakes are areas that geese and ducks typically flock to, and residents made their own choice to move to that area. Is it fair to kill an entire area of wildlife just because residents are "bothered" by them? We are sacrificing the lives of these flocks just to please a few people? I propose that the geese and ducks be saved, and alternatively relocated.
