Public Transport to Cregneash and The Sound - NOW CLOSED

Public Transport to Cregneash and The Sound - NOW CLOSED
The Issue
PETITION is CLOSED now, thank you for signing
Last year, a bus service to Cregneash and The Sound was run at the weekend, mainly employing a mini bus on the route. This year, the service has been cancelled - according to the DoI, it did not pay.
Cregneash is one of the Island's most important heritage sites, The Sound is of outstanding natural beauty. Visiting these places is of substantial scenic and cultural value and therefore priceless.
Both sites are strongly advertised for tourists to visit and the bus go cards offered to reduce the costs for bus transfer on the Island do include them, even though there are no buses running anymore. Ironically, tourists and locals without a car can now only get to Cregneash and The Sound by taxi or on foot (not everybody is a keen walker!). This situation is not tolerable. We therefore want a suitable and affordable transport service back, combined with the arrivals and departures of the steam trains.
Many tourists who are not travelling with an organized group arrive on the Island on a Saturday and stay for a week. Once they find out about Cregneash and the Sound, there will be no possibilities for them to get there by bus if the bus service runs at the week ends only. A newly installed service should therefore run on one weekday at least. This would increase the number of people using the service and its financial revenue.
Please sign this petition to help reinstall an adequate transport service to two of the most important sites in the Isle of Man and pass it on to as many supporters as you can think of! THANK YOU
