On 14 July 2015, a Mercedes Benz OC500LE Gas bus was written off after a fire at the Esplanade Busport. Fortunately, no one was hurt when this bus caught fire. There were lots of people being evacuated from the Busport and some bus services have been affected.

Currently we do have 470 gas buses in the fleet, which is a 1/3 of the Transperth's total fleet. Transperth have had lots of fires back from the past. In 2009, a bus with the same type was destroyed at Raymond St, Yokine. In 2012, TP1237 bus was completely written off at Spearwood on its way to Cockburn Central Station.
