Dear Supporter,
Thanks to you, we have over 3,500 signatures on our petition to have the sex offender registry declared a human rights violation by the United Nations. As you read this, a registered letter is making its way across the Atlantic, to the Commissioner of Human Rights, informing him about the petition. When he sees it, we want to make sure there is as much support as possible, so we are humbly asking you to please share the petition with at least three people you know who have not yet signed it.
Ask them to click this link and sign: www.Change.org/FAC-humanrightsforall
Most of us here in the United States were able to celebrate Thanksgiving this week in homes with our loved ones. At the same time, thousands of people on the registry were on the streets, without a roof over their heads, years after they served their sentences, because sex offender residency restrictions legislate them into homelessness or proximity ordinances prevent them from celebrating with family because they are prohibited from being within a certain distance from a school (that is not even open on Thanksgiving).
These laws are irrational, ineffective, and destroying families. Please find it in your heart to help us by adding a couple more signatories to this petition this week, so that we can reunite families in time for next year’s day of Thanksgiving.
Your support is greatly needed and appreciated.
