Duke Energy has, without most people's knowledge, installed new meters at residents home.  Since this has happened Electric bills have almost doubled.  As an Example is my bill has been on an average $285.00 but the last bill went up to $416.00 without changing a thing.  I posted on Next Door to see if i was the only one's that this has happened to and it was not.  I got an overwhelming replys on one post of people who's billings were even higher then mine.  All of these homes cannot have problems with energy leaks all within a two month or so period.  People are outraged about this. One person was a snowbird and is not even here and her bill was high. When Duke energy is contacted, they give you NO explanation except YOU have higher usage.  How about YOUR meter is running to fast because as i said not all of these homes can all of a sudden have energy leaks. They need to be accountable for stealing from the people. What is next $500 then $600?  We the people are not working to make Duke energy rich!  And we want answers which we cannot get over the phone.  The summer temperatures are the same as last summer.  We want ANSWERS!!!  We want them INVESTIGATED!!! I want people to come forward let them know we have had enough!!
