Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far to Keep Coffs Lifeguards Local, your support is making a real difference.
The next step is critical. We need Coffs Harbour City Councillors to hear directly from you about why our Council-employed lifeguards matter.
What to do next:
- Write an email to the Councillors (details below).
- Share your personal experiences with our lifeguards: maybe they’ve helped you in the surf, taught your kids water safety at school, or welcomed you at a multicultural surf awareness day.
- Urge them to keep the service in-house to protect local knowledge, proven safety programs, and strong community connections.
This is an urgent public safety issue.
From September Park Beach, Sawtell and Woolgoolga beaches along the Coffs Coast will reopen for the season, bringing larger crowds, including visitors unfamiliar with local conditions. We need a highly trained, locally knowledgeable lifeguard team in place to keep our community and visitors safe from day one. Any delay or disruption to this service puts lives at risk.
