Public Petition Demand For an Independent Inquiry into UK Complicit in the War on Gaza

Public Petition Demand For an Independent Inquiry into UK Complicit in the War on Gaza
The Issue
To the UK Parliament, and to the people of the United Kingdom,
We, the undersigned, call for an immediate, independent, and public inquiry into the role and responsibility of the United Kingdom in supporting the State of Israel’s ongoing military campaign against the people of Gaza. The UK Government’s financial, military, and political links with Israel demand urgent and transparent scrutiny.
For the past 21 months, the people of the UK — and the world — have witnessed a humanitarian catastrophe unfold in Gaza:
Tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians have been killed, including children, women, medics, journalists, and aid workers.
Hospitals, schools, refugee camps, and homes have been destroyed.
Essential aid — food, water, fuel, and medicine — has been deliberately blocked by the Israeli government’s military, and in many cases, also by settlers acting with the political backing of Israeli leadership and the protection of the Israeli military (IDF). This has caused mass starvation, dehydration, and the spread of disease.
Civilians waving white flags have been targeted and executed.
Settlers have removed Palestinians from their land with the backing of the IDF. This has not been stopped by the Israeli government — in fact, it has been enabled. Large swathes of Palestinian land have been ring-fenced, making it impossible for displaced residents to return. Backed by Israeli political leadership and protected by the military, settlers have violently evicted Palestinians from their homes, expanded illegal settlements, and forced entire families into designated displacement or aid zones — many of which have later been targeted by airstrikes or used by snipers to kill civilians.
Soldiers and Israeli officials have been recorded confirming these actions — many of which have already been submitted to international courts.
This is not a conflict — it is systematic ethnic cleansing.
Despite international outrage and legal proceedings in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the UK Government has continued to:
Authorise the sale and shipment of weapons and military equipment to Israel;
Share intelligence and surveillance data;
Defend Israel’s actions on the world stage, even in the face of overwhelming evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
These decisions have been made without the consent or support of the British people.
Elected to Serve the People — Not to Excuse Atrocities
UK politicians are elected to serve the will and interests of the British public — not to act as apologists for war crimes, nor to provide cover for foreign governments committing them.
We, the people, do not accept that our taxes, resources, and political weight are being used to facilitate the suffering of an entire population. We have not asked our government to supply weapons, money, or intelligence in support of a state that is carrying out what the international community now widely recognises as acts of genocide.
When ordinary citizens speak out, we are often met with attempts to silence us — accusations of anti-Semitism being used to deflect from legitimate criticism of state violence. While we firmly stand against anti-Semitism in all its forms, we must also now name and reject anti-Palestinianism — the systematic erasure, silencing, and dehumanisation of the Palestinian people.
Anti-Palestinianism is the denial of Palestinian humanity, history, and voice. It is the indifference to their suffering, and the dismissal of their right to life and dignity.
It is unacceptable that UK MPs — elected to represent a free and informed public — remain silent in the face of these crimes, or worse, actively support the continuation of violence and destruction.
Any MP unwilling to stand up for international law, human rights, and moral accountability should no longer hold office.
We Therefore Demand: An Immediate Independent Inquiry
We call upon the UK Parliament to establish a fully independent public inquiry investigate:
- The extent of UK arms sales, military aid, and intelligence support to the State of Israel;
- Whether such support violated UK law, international law, or treaties to which the UK is a signatory;
- The government’s knowledge of the humanitarian consequences of its support;
- Whether UK officials or institutions were complicit — directly or indirectly — in acts that may constitute war crimes or crimes against humanity.
This inquiry must not be blocked or watered down by party politics. It must be transparent, rigorous, and led by independent experts — accountable to the British public and the principles of justice.
We Demand Truth. We Demand Justice. We Demand Accountability.
This is not a matter of foreign policy. It is a matter of human decency, law, and moral responsibility. If the UK is to be a country that stands for peace, rule of law, and human rights, it must hold itself accountable when those values are betrayed.
We urge every citizen to stand for truth — and every elected representative to stand for humanity.
