Public Inquiry Into TMX Spending Needed.

Public Inquiry Into TMX Spending Needed.
Why this petition matters
$16 billion of overspending. Spent correctly, it would have made Canada a leader in renewables.
The new TMX Tarsands pipeline is now estimated to cost over $21.5 billion. According to Greenpeace the expected cost in 2015 was $5.4 billion then $7.4 billion in 2017. Now it is at least $21.5 and counting. Where did the extra $16 billion go?
Some big companies have interesting financial spending techniques to get things done. Has TMX ever been creative? A recent court case sheds some light on how TMX funds for one mutual benefit agreement were used. https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/first-nation-council-that-approved-kinder-morgan-deal-breached-fiduciary-duty-judge
TMX was not a plaintiff or defendant in the case above and the Judge does not suggest any impropriety by TMX.
A report by West Coast environmental law reveals sophisticated reporting and financing arrangements that shroud TMX in secrecy. https://www.wcel.org/sites/default/files/publications/2022_tmx_report-min.pdf
This public inquiry is a different subject matter than the public inquiry proposed by David Goderham and Jennifer Nathan. Theirs is a broader and more weighty subject. They rightly believe a public inquiry is needed to advise the Federal Government and inform Canadians on a safe plan for Canada’s future oil production because our planet is warming too rapidly and emissions keep rising. The future of our planet is at stake. Follow the link below to their blog.
