Mise à jour sur la pétitionNYS Parole Officers Should Join NYSCOPBASTRIKE: Parole Officers Replace Prison Guards
New York State Parole Officers
22 févr. 2025

Dear supporters,

Due to a strike by NYS Correction Officers, Parole Officers are being deployed to correctional facilities to temporarily replace them.

We support our brother and sister Correction Officers on the picket line and agree that ‘HALT’ should be repealed in order to make prisons safer.

Parole Officers can relate to Correction Officers because ‘Less is More’ parole reform has made supervising parolees less safe and should also be repealed.

Now that Parole Officers are actively being deployed to correctional facilities, we’re demanding that they receive the same benefits as Correction Officers, for example, a 25 and out retirement plan, 6 months of permanent line-of-duty injury pay, heart bill, 3/4 disability pension, etc.

Furthermore, we’re demanding that Parole Officers be given the opportunity to vote on whether to join the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) since they work for the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).

If you agree with our demands, please email this update to the Public Employees Federation (PEF) president, Wayne Spence at Wspence@PEF.org. Stay safe to all of our fellow Parole Officers!

In solidarity,

New York State Parole Officers
