Prior to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA), NYS Correction Officers were represented by a civilian union similar to NYS Parole Officers.

The attached video details how a group of brave Correction Officers were able to unify and successfully leave one of the largest public services employees unions and create NYSCOPBA.
