Do not use the WWCD format
The Issue
Recently PUBG esports decided to use a new rule for the PUBG competitions. This rule is called the "Most Chicken Rule". Short information about this can be found here: https://twitter.com/pattrick_36/status/1380769133575479297/photo/1
PUBG esports decided to change a good working format into something the community doesn't want. Note that PUBG esports did not ask anyone for feedback before making this decision, they made this decision all by themselves. After already making the decision, there has been a lot of feedback from (pro)players and viewers, all using several arguments why the new format is not a good idea. Some of these arguments:
- It's causing a lot of mental stress for the players, coach and organisation.
- PUBG esports is not enjoyable to watch when it's all about placements, it will make the gameplay more boring.
- The PUBG community has worked hard to make the format less RNG, the point system used to favor placements in the past, that system was not enjoyable for both players and viewers. Luckily it got changed and kills mattered more. The decision to make it all about placements now again makes no sense.
- It may have appeared like PGI.S was more popular to watch because of the weekly qualifiers, but this hype was actually over pretty soon. After every week passed, people started being more and more negative about it and the viewercount also went down.
Overall, this new format will turn into really boring competitions, teams sitting in compounds and praying for circles, the lucky team with the right compound wins. This is not what PUBG esports should be about.
With this petition, we as the whole community (players AND viewers!) want to show that this is not the right move from PUBG. If nothing changes, this new format will unfortunately result in people not wanting to compete anymore and a lot of viewers not willing to watch anymore. We demand a change.
