Allow Tertiary Students to purchase Myki Student Passes at the same price of Secondary and Primary School students.

The issue

As of 2015, The Public Transport Victoria (PTV) Organisation has denied Tertiary Students to be allowed to purchase Myki Student Passes. Under new rules of Public Transport Victoria, only student in Secondary and Primary school are allowed to obtain Myki Student Passes. To me this is outrageous, as a Tertiary Student I do not have the money to be able to pay concession monthly Myki passes at $90 a month. Whereas if I were a Secondary or Primary school student half yearly Student Myki Pass would only cost me around $250. Even being a tertiary student, when starting a casual or part-time it is not enough to cover money to live on and to have public transport funds on hand, or to even have a car for that matter. This is why we look to public transport as an 'cheaper' option. Students in secondary or primary school usually have their parents pay for their Myki student passes. Most usually get driven to school especially in the primary school population, unlike tertiary students they have to pay their own way by public transport if they can't afford a car. They maybe living out of home without parents or be on Centrelink payments. It seems ridiculous for Tertiary student should have to pay more just because they are doing either its degree, diploma or a certificate. In the end we all students. Why must tertiary students pay more than any other secondary or primary school student? You do the maths, tertiary students will be paying an exuberant amount of money just to get from place to place. This needs to stop!
