Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. The name of a school should be inclusive and align with the standards of the school district and community. Changing the name will cost almost nothing financially. So why keep a name if anyone finds it offensive? There are endless possible names that align better with the standards we hope to achieve. 

Why would we keep the name of a slave owner on any school but especially an elementary school where the complexities and nuance of Thomas Jefferson can't be fully examined in a grade-appropriate AND honest way?
