Act now to require a moratorium on logging Caribou Habitat Until Canadians vote on habitat
The Issue
Petition the Provincial, Teritorial, and Federal governments to apply moratorium on logging the remaining Caribou habitat in British Columbia and adjoining Provinces/Territories until the Canadian public have been informed and have exercised their right through a vote provide direction to the governing agencies onoving forward.
Industry and environment need to cohabit the same space. When the balance between these two factors is as unequal as it currently is becoming, the government's obligation to its people, is to apply a moratorium when a such an action is requested by the people through petition.
The moratorium should allow for a pause in which the people have the opportunity to become more informed, and it should provide for a vote through which the people advise the governing agencies of their requirements with respect to ensuring and maintaining balance between environment and industry.
