The province of Quebec will cover fully for the diabetic pump if you are, or under, 18 years of age as a Type 1 Diabetic. Type 1’s can be diagnosed after the age of 18, so what then? They will not be eligible for financial assistance. 
Many Type 1’s who are eligible for the financial assistance of the pump will deny having it when they are young, due to bullying, self image, and having an extra hassle of a machine attached outside your body. 

EVERY type 1 diabetic should be allowed to have the financial assistance from the Quebec government if they do not have private insurance. We did not ask for our pancreas to fail. We did nothing to do it. 

Ontario and Alberta permit all type 1 diabetics to have the pump under the government insurance plan. Why not Quebec?!

The pump costs around 7000 dollars. I have multiple health issues now at the age of 23 that has impacted my blood sugars. Having the pump would help regulate my body and in turn, avoid worsening my other health conditions that impact my Diabetes.
