With menstruation being a natural part of life, it’s important that schools begin to embrace this through supplying free sanitary products to students.

With this idea being slowly introduced in the US, I think we can all agree that the Australian schooling system needs to catch up. With no girl having the choice to have a period or not, schools need to be supportive. Having sanitary products on hand, whether at school or else where is a necessity. Menstrual products are just as important, vital and necessary as toilet paper, however sadly aren’t provided to students as freely as they should be.

It should also be noted the supply of menstrual products at schools provides a great benefit to low socio-economic students, or to those simply caught off guard.

Sanitary products are a non-negotiable, not a luxury. It’s time free sanitary products in schools become the norm nation wide!
