Provide wider access to Gluten-free options - Coeliac safe

Provide wider access to Gluten-free options - Coeliac safe
The Issue
Restaurant Owners, Supermarket Chains, and Food Industry Leaders
I am calling for a meaningful and immediate increase in the availability of gluten-free food options in both restaurants and supermarkets. As awareness of gluten intolerance, coeliac disease, and gluten sensitivity continues to grow, so does the need for safe, accessible, and clearly labeled gluten-free choices.
For many individuals, avoiding gluten is not a lifestyle trend but a medical necessity. Limited options in dining establishments and grocery stores can make daily life unnecessarily difficult, isolating, and even dangerous. Everyone deserves access to safe, nourishing meals — regardless of dietary restrictions.
More often than not, vegans and vegetarian options are more widely catered for. These are valid choices, but they are choices. Being a coeliac is a medical condition and a gluten-free diet is a necessity.
I am asking for:
- Expanded gluten-free menu items in restaurants, with clear labeling and safe preparation practices to avoid cross-contamination.
- A wider selection of gluten-free products in supermarkets, including staples items like bread, pasta, snacks, and ready-made meals.
- More affordable pricing for gluten-free products to ensure accessibility for all income levels.
By making these changes, food service providers and retailers can show their commitment to inclusion, health, and customer care.
I urge you to take action now to make gluten-free options more available, affordable, and safe for all.
Sincerely,
Rebecca
