My son, Aiden, is an 11-year-old boy living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Due to his condition, Aiden struggles with mobility and relies on a wheelchair for daily activities. Unfortunately, the Buckeye School District does not currently provide wheelchair accessible transportation for students like Aiden.

Aiden's ability to participate fully in school life is hindered by the lack of appropriate transportation options. He often gets fatigued from being pushed around in a manual wheelchair throughout the day and finds it challenging to keep up with his peers during class changes, lunch breaks, and physical education classes.

Furthermore, sitting in an uncomfortable seat for extended periods exacerbates Aiden's fatigue and discomfort. This not only affects his academic performance but also limits his participation in extracurricular activities and school events that he eagerly looks forward to attending.

As a concerned parent who wants nothing more than to see my child thrive academically and socially, I strongly believe that it is crucial for the El Dorado County Buckeye School District to obtain a wheelchair accessible vehicle dedicated to transporting students with disabilities as needed.

By providing this essential service, countless students like Aiden will be able to access their education without facing unnecessary physical challenges or limitations. It will empower them to actively engage in their learning environment while fostering inclusivity within our community.

Accordingly, I kindly request that you support this petition urging the El Dorado County Buckeye School District Board of Education and relevant authorities to prioritize obtaining a wheelchair accessible vehicle specifically designed for transporting students with disabilities within our district.
