You guys are awesome! We reached over 1000 signatures thanks to all your efforts, 1024 to be exact! Someone mentioned to me recently that other petitions have many more thousands of signatures, but don’t forget, those are petitions promoted by both the media and change.org Our petition has not been promoted by change.org nor has the media written any stories on our petition either, therefore 1000+ signatures in 3 months for a grass roots operation like this is quite remarkable! One major difference between our signatures and those of most other petitions is that quantitatively almost all our signatures are from people who suffer with this disease, as well as their families and friends who are also affected. These aren’t random signatures from people who happen to think our cause sounds good. If we had enough exposure though, we’d have many more of the latter type of signatures, and since quantity of signatures matters here also, we need to get the petition out there….. If everyone wrote to their local newspapers, magazines, tv news stations etc…we could get our own story which could lead to the following: more exposure = more signatures = more funding for research = quicker clinical trials for the pipeline drops that may help us = sooner relief. I myself have contacted the major national news organizations, though sometimes it’s about contacting the right person at the right time and if more of us do so, our chances of success increases greatly. I am sorry to ask this of the very people who are struggling, but if we can all invest a few minutes each week on this, it can make a difference between moving forward and prevailing or standing still without results.
