In Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines, the plight of stray dogs is a growing concern. These animals are often subject to harsh conditions with limited access to food and shelter. Moreover, instances of animal cruelty are alarmingly high. According to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), thousands of stray dogs suffer from neglect and abuse each year in our country.

This petition aims to address these issues by advocating for local government action. We urge the local authorities in Cabuyao to establish more animal shelters where these strays can be given proper care and nourishment. Additionally, we call for stricter enforcement of Republic Act No. 8485 or The Animal Welfare Act which criminalizes animal cruelty.
