As a member of the Homecroft community, I have witnessed the incredible dedication and commitment our teachers have toward educating our children. Our teachers go above and beyond for their students and they spend every minute of their day in service of our kids. This year, however, they have to do it without a dedicated break room.

 Homecroft is growing and the demand for student classroom space has understandably increased. In response to this, the school administration transformed the teachers' previous break room into additional learning space for students. We know it's important that our children have a great learning environment, and it's equally important that we provide our educators with a dedicated area to rest, reflect, and refresh. They deserve it!

Research shows that teacher well-being directly impacts the quality of education students receive. According to the National Education Association, a supportive work environment, including access to a suitable break area, can significantly reduce teacher burnout and enhance job satisfaction. 

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE ASKING FOR:

    •    A dedicated space for Homecroft teachers to take breaks

   •    A commitment from ISD 709 to find a creative solution, possibly even pursuing a portable or modular staff building outside of the school

We hold our teachers in high regard and want to give back to them for all they provide to our children and our community. Homecroft parents, families, and community members, your voice can make a difference in securing a designated break room for our devoted educators. We want them to know how much we care!
