Dear Supporters,
Today, I wanted to share some wonderful news and, above all, say thank you.
Warwick District Council has confirmed that St Nicholas Park paddling pool will reopen on Wednesday 29 July following the completion of final safety checks. They have also announced that Victoria Park paddling pool is expected to reopen in the coming days, with the opening date to be confirmed soon.
This moment belongs to all of us.
When we started this petition, it was simply because local families wanted our children to enjoy safe, accessible places to play during the summer. Hundreds of you came together, signed the petition, shared it with friends and neighbours, and showed that our community cares deeply about the wellbeing of our children.
Your support has been truly inspiring. Every signature, every share and every conversation helped demonstrate that when a community comes together with a shared purpose, its voice is heard.
Alongside the petition, I have also been in contact with more than 50 local councillors, sharing your concerns, seeking updates and making sure our community’s voice continued to be heard. I am grateful to those councillors who took the time to respond and engage with the issue.
While we’re celebrating today’s news, we’ll continue to follow updates until both paddling pools are fully open and families can enjoy them throughout the summer.
I’ll also be at St Nicholas Park tomorrow to celebrate the reopening and this wonderful moment with local families. I hope to see some of you there and look forward to seeing children enjoying the pool again.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this campaign and for standing together as a community. It has been a privilege to be part of this collective effort, and I hope this reminds us all of what can be achieved when we work together with kindness, patience and determination.
I look forward to sharing the news of Victoria Park’s reopening with you very soon.
With sincere thanks,
Deepika Lather Singh
