Big Paddling Pools Campaign Update 

This is a really positive moment for our community.

After so many local families, parents and residents signed the petition, shared posts, commented, contacted councillors and kept this issue alive. The council has now confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the contractor, and work is expected to begin to safely reopen both paddling pools.

Cllr Will Roberts has also said he is pushing for the pools to be open for the summer holidays, and that if weather causes further delays, alternative options are being looked at.

This is a big step forward and it shows what can happen when a community refuses to be ignored.

Thank you so much to every single person who signed, shared, supported, commented, messaged councillors or helped keep the pressure on. This progress belongs to all of us.

But we still need to keep pushing.

Until both pools are actually open, families still need clear reassurance that if the pools are not ready before the summer holidays, free or discounted alternatives will be provided for local children and families.

Please keep signing and sharing the petition so the council knows this issue still matters and families are still waiting for proper summer options.

Our children deserve somewhere safe, fun and affordable to enjoy the summer.
