Young people have newfound freedom and support to engage in education, recreational activities, and even part-time work without the burden of transport costs. According to Transport Scotland, over 500,000 young people benefitted from this policy within its first year, reducing child poverty and improving social mobility considerably.
Public transportation is a crucial link to education, jobs, and cultural experiences, especially for those who otherwise might be isolated or unable to travel for financial reasons.
