Did you know there is no provision in Australia for funding the care of sick, injured, abandoned or displaced wildlife? 

This is Australia’s great shame! 

Traditionally funded by charities and volunteers the financial burden and pressure on volunteers is simply unsustainable. It is time the Australian Federal Government appropriately fund the welfare and management of Wildlife and this be enshrined in Legislation.

Annual funding for Accredited Wildlife Rescue and Rehab groups  

Funding of Animal Control Agents to perform roadside euthanasia 

Establishment of “WildCare” - like Medicare but with item numbers for Private Vet businesses to be paid for service items. Eg. euthanasia of unviable wildlife or X-ray of wildlife. 

Currently Private Vets are expected to see Wildlife for free and are simply overwhelmed.
