My name is Vanessa Bishop. I have survived brain cancer 4 times while in my 20’s, and my brain surgery made me disabled.
Long story short, the equity and inclusion in our society, in regard to the disabled community, is highly lacking. Many want equality, but how often do you actually hear about improving equity for the disabled?
I can no longer drive because of my years of relentless suffering. I am positive that I am not the only disabled person that wishes they could actually get somewhere, even though they cannot. I, personally, crave that desire.
- If others are winning inclusivity, why should we be exempt from that?
There are, unfortunately, no disability transportation services in Martinsburg, West Virginia, that are not either for appointments and medical reasons, senior citizens, or only a handful of very specific/intentional pickup places. - This petition is to try to get transportation for disabled without an age limit or specific destinations, for recreational and socialization purposes.
LET’S BE AN ADVOCATE AND END THIS INJUSTICE.
