The stagnation of hockey over the past 20 years is a personal concern. As a passionate supporter of the sport, it has been disheartening to see the limits of our community's athletic growth due to a lack of proper facilities. It's high time for a change. Our community urgently needs an additional sheet of ice for ice sports and a multi-sport indoor complex. Across our nation, the winter sports population, particularly hockey, has grown by over 15% in the last decade (USA Hockey Association). However, in our town, the facilities for these sports have not grown in parallel, limiting opportunities for passionate players and enthusiasts. Providing a multi-sport indoor complex would also address the broader need for diverse sports infrastructure, creating a positive impact on our community's health and youth development.
