Protest the Location of the Fort Mohave Gas Power Plant

Say NO! to the building of a "quick start natural gas turbine" power plant only 1,150 ft from a residential community but more significantly affects ~8,097 residents within a 3 mile radius of the proposed location (Parcel 221-35-024). Let our officials know we don't want any gas plant in so close to anyone's neighborhood!

Why not scout a different location to build that would be away from communities?

Who is impacted?

The proposed 19-acre site for Mohave Electric Company’s (MEC) fossil-fuel power plant is located a mere 1,150 feet from the residential RV homes development “Valley View at Sunrise Hills”. "The most impacted communities are the residential neighborhoods to the east of Vanderslice Road — all of whom are Unisource customers, who have absolutely nothing to gain from MEC's proposed power plant..." -Ron Berstein

"Burning fossil fuels at power plants creates emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2), mercury (Hg), and other pollutants. NOX and SO2 emissions contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone and fine PM, which can lead to respiratory and cardiovascular problems, and exposure to mercury can increase the possibility of health issues ranging from cancer to immune system damage." -EPA

"It is found that in a residential community even a relatively small, clean power plant causes measurable damage Ito property values! over two miles away."
