Protege el patrimonio natural y los derechos humanos de Baja California: Pide al Gobernador Jaime Bonilla Valdez que preserve el arroyo y la playa de San Miguel, en Ensenada.

El arroyo San Miguel está ubicado al norte de la ciudad de Ensenada, Baja California, en el corazón de la Reserva Mundial de Surf 'Bahía de Todos Santos'. Este arroyo aporta la arena y rocas necesarias para mantener las características de la ola de San Miguel, históricamente popular para surfistas mexicanos y extranjeros. 

Expresa al Gobernador de Baja California, Jaime Bonilla Valdéz, tu interés y apoyo para que el arroyo y playa  San Miguel, sean declarados como el primer Parque Estatal de Baja California, a los efectos de garantizar su protección legal, uso público, sostenible y ordenado. 

La propuesta del Parque Estatal Arroyo San Miguel, cubre  67 hectáreas a lo largo de seis kilómetros del cauce del arroyo medidos a partir su desembocadura en la playa.  La protección del sitio generará (entre otros) los siguientes beneficios para la comunidad local y visitantes:

1) Protección de la cuenca y la desembocadura del arroyo San Miguel, mismos que mantienen las características de la ola, mundialmente famosa para el surf.

2) Establecimiento de un área pública para la recreación, educación, deporte y convivencia familiar de los habitantes y visitantes de Ensenada. 

3) Incrementar el porcentaje de áreas verdes por habitante, previniendo impactos ambientales y contaminación, al preservar el ambiente ripario y paisaje natural de la costa bajacaliforniana.

4) La reforestación del sitio ayudará en el futuro a mantener más agua en el manto acuífero para los habitantes de la zona.

At the heart of Bahia de Todos Santos World Surfing Reserve in northern Baja, the San Miguel watershed is a critical riparian ecosystem that contributes necessary sand and cobblestones to form the classic wave at San Miguel. This petition asks the Governor of Baja California, Jaime Bonilla Valdez, to declare this area as Baja California's first State Park which will guarantee long-term lasting protection.

Approval of the proposed 67 hectare Arroyo San Miguel State Park will protect 6 kilometers of the watershed that drain towards the river mouth at San Miguel beach. 

The Arroyo San Miguel State Park will:

1) Protect the watershed and iconic wave at San Miguel.

2) Provide essential public open space for recreational activities, sports and a much needed community area.

3) Increase the percentage of green area per inhabitant and prevent environmental impacts and pollution by preserving the riparian environment and natural landscape of the watershed.

4) Protect San Miguel Creek and important aquifers that provide water for local residents.
