Michigan and its businesses are able to deny an individual employment on the grounds of using THC despite having medical consent. This is done to supposedly protect employers even though a urinalysis for THC does not prove if someone was under the influence while on the job. The psychoactive properties last several hours while THC can show in someone's urine for several days or even months. 

On top of this, many are prescribed much more harmful and mind altering substances and are protected if they are medically prescribed. Michigan law specifically singles out Medical Marijuana and offers no protection for the individual.

We are battleing historic levels of unemployment and barring thousands if not millions of qualified employees from gainful employment on the basis of antiquated information and laws. It's time to remove these outdated laws and get good employees working again.
