Protecting Paws: End the Importation of Pedigreed Dogs into India

Protecting Paws: End the Importation of Pedigreed Dogs into India

Losing my dear Simba to kidney failure was devastating. It made me realize how crucial it is to rethink bringing pedigreed dogs into India. Simba's passing showed me the harsh truth: our country lacks the right medical care for these breeds, and our climate isn't always kind to them.

Simba's not alone in this struggle. Many pet owners in India, like me, have faced similar heartbreaks. Watching our pets suffer because of the lack of proper resources is unbearable. Losing a pet to health issues that could have been prevented hurts deeply, especially when we try our best to care for them in our hot and humid climate.

Buying pedigreed dogs instead of adopting from shelters only adds to the problem. Breeds like Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Dachshunds, Dobermans, and Pugs, bred for specific looks or traits, find it hard to adjust to our weather. They often suffer from heatstroke, kidney problems, dehydration, and breathing issues because of it.

Let's honor Simba's memory by choosing to adopt shelter or stray dogs. Together, we can create a future where no pet has to suffer needlessly. We must understand the risks of bringing pedigreed dogs into India, especially when our medical facilities aren't equipped to handle their needs.

By signing this petition to promote the adoption of shelter, Stray animals over the purchase of pedigreed dogs, we honor Simba's memory and work towards a future where no pet suffers needlessly.

Let's come together and put an end to the importation of pedigreed dogs into India, ensuring a future where every dog, regardless of breed, finds a loving and caring home.
