🚨Protect your access to local healthcare- Beeton Walk-In Clinic to stay open 🚨
The Issue
To the Honourable Minister of Health and Our Local MPP/MP,
We, the undersigned patients and supporters of Beeton Walk-In Clinic, urgently request immediate action to protect timely, local healthcare access in New Tecumseth and surrounding areas.
For the past seven years, Beeton Walk-In Clinic has earned its reputation as the most trusted and highest-rated clinic in the region, serving thousands of patients each year. Today, our clinic is at risk of closing — not because of patient demand, but because of ongoing administrative delays by the Ministry of Health.
We ask that the MP/MPP offices support our clinic by providing a letter—on behalf of a Crown agency—to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). This letter would formally request registration under SSD (Supervised Short Duration) status for our internationally trained physician, who has already completed:
The Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam (MCCEE) – confirming equivalency of foreign medical degrees
The National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) OSCE – a rigorous practical exam assessing physician competence in patient care
If this letter is sent to CPSO, our clinic will be able to bill full visit fees through OHIP, just as every other walk-in clinic in Ontario is permitted to do. This would immediately make our operations financially sustainable.
In the meantime, we urgently need a clear written response from the Ministry of Health confirming that:
As an unregistered practitioner under CPSO (working under supervision), we are permitted to charge patients a modest $20 fee for a wellness health assessment.
This fee is a standard uninsured service and is fully compliant with all healthcare legislation, including the Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act, 2004.
To date, the Ministry has failed to respond to these requests in a timely manner, putting our clinic—and the healthcare of this entire region—at risk.
We call on the Ministry and our elected officials to:
Send the letter to CPSO to initiate full registration of our IMG;
Provide immediate clarity on the legality of our compliant wellness assessment fee;
Protect thousands of patients from losing access to trusted, local care.
Without action, our doors could close — leaving thousands without timely, trusted care.
We are fighting to survive — and we need YOUR voice.
✅ Our $20 wellness assessments fully comply with healthcare regulations.
✅ No one pays to skip the line.
✅ No one pays for faster care.
✅ It’s simply about covering the cost of supervised services provided by internationally trained physicians — physicians who are here, ready, and capable of serving your healthcare needs.
Your support can make the difference.
