Wendy the coyote’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact we can have as a community when we come together to help an animal in distress.

Unfortunately being shot multiple times with a pellet gun to her face is what caused the incredible suffering she endured while wandering the streets of Studio City pleading for help and ultimately that help came too late. 

Some other methods humans use that cause catastrophic injury leading to slow painful deaths are traps and poisons.  These pose a serious threat to local wildlife, causing pain and injury to animals like coyotes who are just trying to coexist in our shared environment.

 Many residents, like the kind individuals who cared for Wendy from afar, may not realize the dangers lurking in their neighbors backyards. Harmful traps not only hurt coyotes but can also endanger other animals, including pets and non-target wildlife—this needs to change.

As a concerned community member of Studio City, I believe it is our responsibility to protect our urban wildlife and create safer environments for them to thrive. By banning harmful traps, and poisons, we can ensure the safety and well-being of these creatures that often have no voice. Imagine a Studio City where animals don’t have to suffer silently but can live with dignity and peace.

I urge authorities to take immediate action to ban harmful traps in Studio City. This change is essential for preventing future suffering and promoting coexistence with our four-legged neighbors. It's about safeguarding both the animals and our community environment. Let’s come together again just like we did for Wendy and make this essential change happen.
