The Issue

Sometimes I see deer, ducks, and bears on the streets trying to find a home. This is very sad because we are cutting trees and taking their homes as our cities grow too fast. I like nature and animals; they are a very important part of the environment.

North Carolina's rapid urbanization has led to significant habitat loss for many species. According to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, over 2 million acres of wildlife habitat have been lost in recent decades due to development. This not only displaces animals but also disrupts entire ecosystems.

We need immediate action to protect these habitats by implementing stricter regulations on deforestation and promoting sustainable urban planning that considers wildlife corridors and green spaces.

Please sign this petition to urge local authorities to take necessary steps in preserving our natural heritage for future generations.
