Joanne O’Dwyer (Jojo) committed suicide with debts of around £60,000 as a result of giving money to Tiktok Beggars (Creators). She paid for one of them to go on a luxurious holiday to Tenerife. She often gave them gifts of up to £330 per transaction. 

It was commonly known among some of the TikTok Beggars that Jojo had huge debts but some of them continued to take her money. Jojo’s three children have now been left without a mother. 

It is vital that the government stops Tiktok gifting in order to protect vulnerable people. Otherwise there will certainly be more suicides in the future. Please demand that the government bans Tiktok gifting and extends the law regarding ‘Controlling or Coercive Behaviour’ so that the greedy TikTok beggars can be imprisoned.

Since this petition started TikTok has removed a video showing footage of a Live in which Jojo gave a Lion (a gift costing her over £300) to a TikTok Beggar. The reason TikTok gave was that the video involved “Fraud and scams”. So TikTok appears to be calling their own gifting system a fraud and a scam. This is potentially fantastic news for Jojo’s Law because if this is how TikTok views its own gifting system there is a significant chance the government will agree.
