Introducing VYD2311: A Promising New Monoclonal Antibody
As we continue to advocate for Pemgarda (Pemivibart) to be made available in Canada, there is now another monoclonal antibody entering the picture: VYD2311.
This next-generation antibody, developed by Invivyd, has shown:
• ~17x greater neutralizing activity against current Omicron variants than Pemgarda
• A long half-life, offering extended protection
• Early data supporting its safety and potency in Phase 1 trials
• Plans for Phase 2 prevention trials later this year
Just like Pemgarda, VYD2311 would rely on an immune-bridging approval pathway—the same approach used by the U.S. FDA, but still not adopted by Health Canada.
This is an important moment. New tools are being developed, but without a regulatory path forward in Canada, our most vulnerable citizens remain unprotected.

Media Silence, Regulatory Silence
We’ve now reached out to multiple journalists from CBC, CTV, the Globe and Mail, STAT News, and Global News, yet we have not received a response specific to this petition.
It’s possible that some journalists are hesitant to cover a story that challenges the current government narrative: that the pandemic is behind us, and that no further protections are needed.
Similarly, Health Canada has yet to respond to our formal inquiries about:
• Emergency access to Pemgarda
• Adoption of immune-bridging pathways
• Public funding for combination trials targeting viral persistence in Long COVID
But this silence cannot stand. Vulnerable people are still getting infected. Still suffering. Still being left behind.
