The Issue

Our Precious Grandson, at just two weeks old, suffered a broken arm and at a different hospital rib fractures still questionable. My daughter & son in law , concerned and anxious, took him immediately to a doctor because she genuinely didn't know what was wrong. Their intentions were to get help for their baby, as any loving parent would. However, authorities were quick to jump to conclusions. All three of their kids were removed from their care. Accusations of physical child abuse were leveled against them  despite us believing that the baby might have a medical condition like brittle bones.

Almost all of his lab tests has shown significant abnormalities, yet no one is taking the time to explore this possibility. The medical and child protective services have chosen to adopt a narrow viewpoint, automatically suspecting parents of abuse instead of keeping an open mind to possible medical conditions.

This heartbreaking incident highlights a significant flaw in the system. Parents like my daughter and son in law find themselves voiceless and disbelieved. It's a scenario where the authorities fail to listen, cutting off any chance of a fair investigation.

We must urge Ohio lawmakers and child protection agencies to implement protocols that provide a balanced investigation for alleged abuse cases. This includes considering possible underlying medical conditions before making an accusatory judgement. By establishing a more holistic approach, parents who are innocent will no longer live under the cloud of false accusations.

Our goal is simple: safeguard families from wrongful allegations and ensure that justice and fairness prevail in the child welfare system. Our children deserve the best protection, which includes shielding innocent families from the trauma of baseless allegations.

*PLEASE SIGN*  this petition to help us bring about change. Encourage the state of Ohio to adopt comprehensive reforms that protect the innocent while preserving the integrity of child protective services
