Our community in RU Block, Pitampura, cherishes the local stray dogs. They are often friendly, vaccinated, and cared for by compassionate residents. Despite this, they endure harassment, threats of eviction, and ill-treatment from those who aren't aware of their legal rights. According to the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, these dogs are branches of our ecosystem and have a right to live in harmony with us. It is our collective responsibility to protect their rights in adherence to these rules and encourage a symbiotic relationship within our community. We are appealing to the local authorities, the Municipal Corporation, and RWAs, demanding they take strong, immediate action to prevent the mistreatment of our community dogs and to educate residents about these animals' legal rights.
